Volunteering with Furniture Mine

Volunteer with Furniture MineYou can help make a real difference to people in Staffordshire by donating your time and becoming part of our family.

Our volunteers are a mix of people. Some are looking to gain the vital work experience and valuable skills that help them to find a paid job and some just want to support a worthwhile charity.

Volunteering can also help overcome personal barriers to work such as temporary homelessness and health problems. It provides volunteers with steady work, self-worth and personal motivation.

Furniture Mine supports its volunteers by also providing additional activities such as attending field trips to build self-confidence and team work.

We also provide support to help find paid work or training through our parent company - Aspire Housing.

We work with local organisations to support people who offer to volunteer, including the Volunteer Centres in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands.

Skills our volunteers learn and develop include:

  • Warehousing
  • Logistics and distribution
  • Customer service
  • Administration
  • Retail
