Gift Aid Explained

Make your donations go further with Gift Aid

The Government operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim the basic rate tax on every pound donated. It's fantastic for charities like ourselves because it means that we get extra money on top of the value of your donation - at no extra cost to you! For every £1 donated, charities receive £1.25 when Gift Aid is added. Giving under Gift Aid means that so much more money can be raised.

Gift Aid rules require the completion of a Gift Aid declaration form or opt-in when making a donation whether in one of our shops or via our website. The details taken provide us with the minimum information required by us to be able to claim Gift Aid on a donation. Any charity has to be able to provide, when requested, a valid declaration through which Gift Aid has been claimed, so it is important that any details submitted to us are accurate and complete. If you have any queries, please ask a member of staff in our Stoke or Newcastle Town Centre shop or call us on 01782 846111.

How to Gift Aid it?
You can download our Gift Aid Declaration form here and simply return it to us or pop it into one of our shops. Alternatively, you can fill in the form below which only take a few seconds.

If you are a UK taxpayer, the value of your recent donation can increase by at least 25% under the Gift Aid scheme - at no additional cost to you! Please tick the box below to join the Gift Aid scheme. I confirm that I pay tax in the UK. Please treat all donations I make or have made to Furniture Mine for the past 4 years as Gift Aid donations until further notice.

Please enter the letters below for confirmation

Please be aware that you must have paid an amount of income and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount of tax reclaimed by all charities on your donations in the tax year (6th April one year to 5th April the next). We can currently receive an extra 25p for every £1 as a result of sold furniture and electricals. Other taxes such as Council Tax and VAT do do qualify. Please let us know if your tax circumstances or name/address change so that we can update our records.
